A community or recreation association is a recognized not-for-profit that provides recreation services as identified
by the Management Team of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services of the City of Ottawa.
The community or recreation services they provide are in addition to the services already provided by the City of
Ottawa.
Community and Recreation Associations are run by volunteer residents who want to contribute to their
communities and offer a service or program that do not have the goal of making a profit. They are required to
hold regular meetings and must hold an annual general meeting that is open to its members.
