About Parkwood Hills:

The Parkwood Hills neighbourhood is located along Meadowlands between Merivale and Fisher, with a majority of residents living in rental units. It is a vibrant and diverse community comprised of residents who are engaged and committed to creating positive change. It welcomes newcomers and post-secondary students who appreciate its access to schools, shopping areas and various community services and programs.

Working on increasing opportunities for local residents to improve their health and well-being through providing health and well-being resources, programming and events directly in neighbourhoods.

Working on increasing opportunities for neighbours to get to know, understand and support each other.

Working on increasing local opportunities for accessible, healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate food.

Working on increasing local recreational, social, educational and pre-employment opportunities for children and youth.

Working on providing local opportunities for residents to become involved in their communities through volunteering and engagement in decision-making.

Each neighbourhood has developed an action plan so that residents and service providers can keep track of how their organized activities are working for change. The activities and initiatives are sometimes organized by residents, sometimes by service providers and, very often, organized together.
