About Banff:
There are over 500 residents who live in the Banff/Ledbury community. The community is within walking distance to a City of Ottawa indoor pool and a park with a wading pool. A Community House is located on site and offers programs and services to tenants.
The following symbols and text are what residents and service providers in Banff have decided they want to work on together.
Connecting Neighbours
Working on increasing opportunities for neighbours to get to know, understand and support each other.
Opportunities for Children and Youth
Working on increasing local recreational, social, educational and pre-employment opportunities for children and youth.
Civic Participation and Leadership
Working on providing local opportunities for residents to become involved in their communities through volunteering and engagement in decision-making.
Traffic and Walking Safety
Working on opportunities to reduce traffic injuries and increase pedestrian and bike safety.
Beautification
Working on increasing the physical appeal of local communities through community clean-ups, gardens and other greening initiatives.
For an overview of what all the neighbourhoods are working on, take a look at this summary chart.
Each neighbourhood has developed an action plan so that residents and service providers can keep track of how their organized activities are working for change. The activities and initiatives are sometimes organized by residents, sometimes by service providers and, very often, organized together.
